Statement released 30th January 2017: “I am very pleased to report that it was unanimously decided at the RESMaG Council meeting on 18th January 2017 to pursue integration with the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM). Although the details of integration still need to be finalised, it is the strong feeling of the Council that integration with IPEM will better enable RESMaG to fulfil its role of promoting and supporting the Rehabilitation Engineering profession.” Professor Colin Gibson, Chair of the RESMaG Council (

We are a voluntary group, formed to address and support healthcare science professionals working in Rehabilitation Engineering within the National Health Service in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Our members’ area is free to join and once registered you will be able to receive regular updates from RESMaG.

We welcome Rehabilitation Engineering Professionals and other associated healthcare workers to join the website, which aims to achieve the following:

  • Discussion forum: for Clinical Engineers, Rehabilitation Engineers and other healthcare science professionals working in Rehabilitation Engineering.
  • Representation: To statutory, voluntary, educational, service and professional groups at national level.
  • Standards: Initiate, promote and support professional standards, including accreditation, education, training, health & safety and quality management within the field of Rehabilitation Engineering
  • Inform: Co-ordinate and exchange information between rehabilitation engineering services at regional and national level
